How to Create an EasyInterest Account for Xero Users

Getting started with EasyInterest is quick and easy for Xero users. Once your account is created and your Xero profile is connected, your customer information can be brought across and you're ready to start managing interest on overdue accounts.

In this guide, we'll walk you through the complete setup process — from creating your account and connecting Xero to choosing your pricing package, setting up payments and adjusting your communication preferences.

How to create an EasyInterest account for Xero

Step 1: Select “Create Account”

Start by visiting the EasyInterest website:

www.easyinterest.co.za

Select Create Account to begin setting up your EasyInterest account.

Step 2: Add your personal details

You'll first need to enter your basic account information.

Enter your:

  • Name
  • Surname
  • Email address
  • Contact number

Next, create a password for your EasyInterest account.

Once your details have been entered:

  • Click Sign up with Xero
  • Check “I accept EasyInterest's Terms of Use & Privacy Policy”
  • Click Create Account

Your EasyInterest account will now be created and you can move on to connecting your Xero profile.

Step 3: Link your Xero profile

The next step is to connect your Xero accounting profile to EasyInterest.

You'll be prompted to:

  • Sign in using your Xero login details
  • Click Allow Access
  • Select the company you want to connect to EasyInterest

Once connected, EasyInterest can work with the relevant customer and account information from your Xero profile.

Step 4: Select your pricing package and adjust your settings

Once your Xero profile is connected, you'll be able to configure your EasyInterest settings.

Select your pricing package

Choose the pricing package that best suits the number of overdue customers you manage.

This ensures you have the appropriate package for your debtor book.

Select your ageing type

Choose how you want EasyInterest to determine the ageing of your customer balances:

  • Due Date
  • Invoice Date

Select your interest account

Choose the account in your Xero profile where you want interest charges to be posted.

For example, you could select an account such as Interest Received.

Include inactive customers

You can also choose whether or not inactive customers should be included in your EasyInterest account.

Adjust this setting according to how you want to manage your customer balances.

Step 5: Set up your payment details

Next, you'll need to set up your payment information.

Enter your:

  • Credit card details

Once your card details have been entered, click Pay ZAR 1.

Don't worry — this ZAR 1 payment is refunded.

The payment is used to test and verify that the card details are valid and that payments can be processed successfully.

Step 6: Adjust your communication settings

The final setup stage allows you to configure your communication preferences.

You can:

  • Toggle communication settings on or off
  • Choose whether customers should receive communications
  • Ignore specific clients by adjusting the relevant toggle

Once your settings are configured, click Continue to Dashboard.

You're ready to perform your first interest run

That's it!

Your EasyInterest account is now set up and connected to your Xero profile.

You can now start using EasyInterest to calculate and manage interest on overdue customer accounts.
